how does it work?Product ExampleFor example, if you want to bundle a computer and give the user the option to select the CPU, monitor of their choice, memory card, etc.; your buyer would begin by selecting the CPU in step one, the monitor they want in step two and the memory card in step three. As a merchant, you define what items they can choose from in each step of the bundle. Gift Set ExampleIn this example, we'll take a look at how you could use Customer-Defined Bundling to let the customer choose their own items for a gift basket. As the gift basket provider, you have a variety of different basket styles and a variety of choices the buyer can choose from to create their own gift basket. Let's make a fruit and nuts gift basket with a card. In step one, you would select all of the baskets the buyer can choose from. In step two, you could allow them to choose a variety fruit pack that includes apples, oranges and grapes, or they could choose to just get the one fruit they want. In step three, they choose from a variety nut pack, or any combination of nuts that suits their taste. In the final step, the buyer chooses their own gift card to include in the basket. Furthermore, your card is set up with a customer-defined attribute so the buyer can write their personalized message. Personal Shopping Assistance Made EasyIf you are in an industry where you use your expertise to help the customer put items together to create their final purchase, then Customer-Defined Bundles can help you do the same online. In an apparel store, it's easy for the customer to ask 'Does this look good together? Does this match? What do you think of these shoes with this blouse?'. Online they don't have that option and may be wary of whether or not the items will match when they arrive. Using Customer-Defined Bundles, you can assist the shopper and alleviate concerns. Simply by offering bundles of coordinating items, you've given the customer a sense of security the items do match, they look good together and they had options to choose from. In our apparel example, you could start them off with a blouse, offer them a choice of a pair of jeans or pants, which coordinate with the blouse. Finally, you could offer them shoes to choose from that coordinate with any combination they put together. The options are endless, and the final result is higher sales, higher customer satisfaction and a personalized shopping experience. |
